About Midwest Water Analysts Association
Midwest Water Analysts Association (MWAA) is a non-profit organization for professionals
interested in environmental issues. Membership is free and anyone may become a
member. The membership is representative of both the public and private sector
and includes laboratory and other persons in water, wastewater, health, private
industry and regulatory agencies. MWAA's mission is to facilitate the exchange
of ideas, information and technology among members and others with similar concerns.
Generally, three regular meetings are held each year (fall, winter, spring). Meetings in the
fall and spring consist of facility tours and presentations on various topics
of interest to the group. In January, the MWAA hosts its annual exposition
meeting, at which numerous talks are presented on a wide variety of issues, and
vendors are present to show and display their products and services. Meetings
provide a forum for interaction and education concerning environmental, or more
specifically, water-related issues.
Midwest Water Analysts Association, formerly known as Lake Michigan Water Analysts, was
started in 1965. The organization is operated by individuals who are willing to
volunteer their time and energy to the MWAA. The officers, along with steering committee members,
run the general business of the organization. The officers are generally chosen from the
members who serve on the steering committee and who have thereby gained
knowledge and experience with the operation of the group. Anyone is welcome to
join the steering committee and if you are interested in joining the MWAA
steering committee, please notify one of the officers.
If you are interested in finding out more about MWAA or wish to get on our mailing list
for future meetings, please call or e-mail any of our officers.
